Well its the end of the season - how bout that? We were wondering this morning, while packing the final shares, if members were excited for the season to be over or sad for it to be over. Perhaps a little of both. We imagine the chore of picking up the weekly share gets old after a few months (especially now that it’s dark out) and that its quite a task to organize your produce after working or taking care of kids, or doing whatever busy’s your day. Like us, you may be feeling a bittersweet end to the season.
This work is incredibly enjoyable; we love growing for CSA. The weekly rhythm is dynamic and keeps us interested while not overwhelmed. We love the consistency and dependability of growing for our membership. We’ve become a well-oiled machine over here at Village Farmstead. Our crew knows what to do and when to do it, and is good at communicating when there’s a question or a need to recalibrate. Our workshares have been so dependable and enjoyable to spend time with each week. And while we had a great growing season, aside from some potatoes planted too shallow, we’re looking forward to the change in rhythm. Thank you all so much for your support this season - our little farm owes its ability to thrive to all of you!
