What’s in your share?

  • French Fingerling Potatoes

  • Garlic

  • Romaine Lettuce

  • Curly Kale

  • Salad Mix

  • Sweet Peppers

  • Tomatoes

  • Cherries, Shishitos, or Poblanos

Greens are back! The best time for eating is when Summer meets Fall. Take advantage of being able to make salads with tomatoes and peppers while they last! The tomatoes and peppers are drastically slowing down. Potatoes are still rolling in, but don’t feel like you need to eat them all before the next share! They are meant to last into the winter - just keep them in a cool, dark place.

Kale Caesar Salad

Kale looking luscious. Row cover season is upon us. All these gorgeous greens, unfortunately, need to be covered at all times to protect them from the cabbage moth, whose larvae will eat the leaves down to the stem if left alone with the plants. This entire tunnel is planted to plants in the brassica family, which fall prey to the caterpillars. We opted to grow curly kale this fall because I have a theory that the caterpillars have a harder time traversing the curly leaves than the smooth leave of lacinato. Additionally, this will be the kale that our household eats over the winter, and because it holds a salad dressing much nicer than smooth kale, and also holds up in a soup, this is the preferable variety for overwintering.
