What’s in your share?

  • Japanese Salad Turnips

  • Bok Choy

  • Garlic

  • Broccoli (if you didn’t get it last week)

  • Salad Mix

  • Scallions

  • Russet Potatoes

Can’t determine who looks better - the bok choy or Sam?

Yeehaw Fall is here! We’re excited for the cooler weather and the crops it brings! We got our first frost this morning and we weren’t even worried about it. Having all of our high tunnels has changed the game for being prepared for cooler weather. All the tomatoes and peppers have been removed and are being replaced with either winter greens or cover crops. Our daily work load is diminishing by the day, and we are finally getting around to some projects that have built up over the summer. This week’s share is stunning - our fall broccoli has never been better, the Japanese salad turnips were flawless (they usually get some good damage from insects), and we harvested the bok choy in the hail and sleet yesterday, making it taste even sweeter than usual :)

Ali harvesting salad mix in the safety of the tunnel while the sleet and hail and wind ripped through the field yesterday!

One of the families in our CSA, who also happen to make the beautiful compost we use (Blue Ribbon Organics) shared this photo of them making the most out of their bok choy! They used food based finger-paint and made the cutest stencils after prepping their dinner :)
