What’s in your share?
Arugula*
Garlic
Butternut Squash
Austrian Crescent Fingerling Potatoes
Radishes
Tomatoes
Parsnip(s)*
*Parsnips are in the carrot family. They have a sweet, almost nutmeg-like taste. They are a beautiful addition to a potato soup, chili, or vegetable roast. We had a pretty sad harvest due to the lack of rain at the beginning of the season, but its just enough for a little taste!
*We decided against washing the arugula. As you’ll see, it is very tender, and would have probably gotten broken and bruised in our spin dryer, resulting in soggy leaves. They have been under cover in the field, and are relatively clean (we have not washed any of the leaves we’ve been eating at our house). Should you choose to wash them, take care in drying them, because their shelf life will greatly decrease if they are bruised.
